Busy Days

What a busy day today for us "Creekers".  In addition to all the "normal" morning activities scheduled for today including water exercise,  yoga & Pilates,  silver stretchers, wood carving, shuffleboard, and horseshoes, there was a very special clinic out at the pickleball courts that drew a HUGE crowd.

The softball field was busy as well with a full roster of games to be played kicking off the new season.  Wendell Johnson was present to start the opening games....sorry I missed that photo opportunity.  You can see the active schedule and team rosters at their blog:

Back at the clubhouse, the craft fair was in full swing.  The place was packed with customers.

The Lions Club volunteers were selling their little ducks in preparation for the spring duck race down the Palm Creek CREEK.  This project supports their therapy dog program so is a worthy cause.

After all that shopping, we stopped at the poolside patio for a nice lunch out in our beautiful Arizona sunshine.  The kitchen staff has certainly kept busy but Marilyn keeps a smile!

Whoa!  Tuesday night is Ladies night in the poker room....looks like they were dressed as Ladies OF the night!  Lots of laughs as these gals dressed up for their January Jezebels event.

I took some photos yesterday too but didn't have time to post so shall do so now.
The water volleyball folks looked like they were wrapped in sealskins to keep warm on a somewhat chilly day.

While others basked in warmer luxury at the hot tub where they could comfortably watch the action.

Another popular event occurred Sunday afternoon.  Brent Shirley started an iPad Users Group that will meet on Sunday afternoons.  I think he'll have to hold meetings in a larger room, however, as there was standing room only.  Watch the activities department for further announcements.

AND......one more special note:  At Monday night Bingo, I sat next to a couple I hadn't met before so said hello and started a conversation to learn more about them.  WOW!  It turns out that Greg Falls is the man who was rescued on the pickleball courts last year when he dropped over with a heart attack and some of our local park residents took immediate action with the defibrillator to save his life.
Say hello to the walking miracle man -- Greg Falls -- and his wife Donna from British Columbia.  After Greg's attack, he received a new heart valve, had two bypasses, and received a stint.  He was comatose for a total of 28 days through the ordeal.  Greg and Donna are happily enjoying their vacation at Palm Creek again thanks to the rapid response and rescue Greg received.  He has quite a story to tell about how to apply for travel insurance for fellow Canadians.  We're certainly glad to see you here, Greg!
